Growing up in the Netherlands, Bianca started to work with flowers at a young age. Her mother had a garden where they grew a wide variety of flowers, and both her and her mother would create arrangements with them. Some of the arrangements graced their home, while others were given to family members and friends.
At the age of 12, Bianca went to a vocational school that specialized in floral design. Around the same time, she also started to work in a local flower shop on the weekends. She had an innate ability to understand what the customers wanted and infused that into each arrangement.
After vocational school, Bianca went onto Florens College in Aalsmeer. Here she honed her skills in a wide variety of floral design styles. Her intuitive understanding of floral design coupled with her understanding of her customers earned her the highest degrees in college.
In 1988, Bianca decided to come to America to work and teach the principles of European floral design. Her work garnered her a position with the Society of American Florists as well as a coveted position of making floral arrangements for Mrs. Barbara Bush at the White House. She has a sense of communicating what the new trends are emerging and often times is the one starting them. She holds the title of FTD Master Designer and received the prestigious Designer of the Year award for the State of Maryland in 1992.
